How to Live Intentionally
Many of us are unconsciously moving through life from one thing to the next never quite making it to where we want to be. It’s incredibly easy to be sidetracked by all the distractions and issues that life gives us, but it’s time to stop letting life happen to you and instead make your life path go the way you want it to. You can do this by living intentionally. Living with intent is all about deciding your life’s purpose and aligning your actions in life to that purpose and fulfilling it. You must let go of the negatives and distractions that don’t serve you in accomplishing your dreams. You need to consciously make decisions on what in your world will align with your purpose and what will lead to you not accomplishing the said purpose.
How do you start living your life with intent?
First, you need to sit down with yourself in a calming and relaxing area, focus deep within, and decide what you want your aspirations to be, what your core values are, and what your beliefs are. Doing this will give you the clarity that you are lacking about yourself. This can be professionally, socially, emotionally, health-wise, mentally, spiritually, or all of the above. Taking the time to explore your mind and feelings lets you determine a path that is unique to you. You should never choose a path that doesn’t fit or that you are completely unsure of. Meditation, grounding, or journaling are all great ways to listen to yourself and determine your goals and desires. Find your inspirations.
Next, set small goals along your journey that align with your main goal. Every journey is a series of steps and each one is an achievement. Your goals, whether short-term or long-term should be a stride towards your intended life’s purpose but always with the understanding that life is about the journey, not the destination. Living with intent means the decisions and tasks you make for yourself should help you succeed in your objectives for your journey.
Furthermore, a big decision that you need to make is what is holding you back from your success. What are the parts of your life that are distractions, or the parts that make you feel stressed and negative? Take the time to really learn and see what is keeping you trapped in negativity rather than being able to live your purpose. Setting boundaries for yourself and others around you so that you can live a healthier lifestyle. You need to be in constant communication with yourself and realize what works for you and what doesn’t and then make the adjustments that help you.
Choosing to live a life with intent is choosing to start a lifelong process that allows you to make the most of your life by aligning your values with your goals. Living life on autopilot will not only have you get nowhere that you want in life, but you also won’t appreciate the journey that got you there. Living with intent will not only have you choosing a life purpose but will give you a life journey that will leave you fulfilled and look forward to each step that you take.
